Scott County woman in her 40s found dead in RV at Rockwood Marina

In early May, the bodies of Anissa Osborne, 56, and Christopher Osborne, 51, were discovered with gunshot wounds at the Ocean Pond Campground in Osceola National Forest, Florida. Police responded to a welfare check and suspect Christopher shot his wife before killing himself, based on preliminary evidence. The couple, married for 15 years, lived and worked at the campsite in their RV. The investigation is ongoing.

A 1968 Chevrolet C20 CST Custom Camper pickup truck paired with a 1966 Del Rey Sky Lounge tri-level camper is being auctioned. The truck features a 396 V8 engine rated at 220 bhp and a 3-speed automatic transmission. The camper includes a sleeping area, kitchenette, toilet, and shower. The odometer shows 97,000 miles.

The Columbus County (N.C.) Board of Adjustment denied a special use permit for an RV campground on May 19, stating the applicant's site plan did not meet county requirements. Applicant Pedro Tapia plans to revise and resubmit the proposal. The proposed 37-site campground with a pool and splash pad was expected to open next year.

The Florida and Alabama RV Park and Campground Association (FRVCA) has presented a Best Park Award to Southern Aire RV Resort in Thonotonassa, Florida. The resort features 432 sites, a heated pool and spa, a lake, a dog park, and a common area. The award was given on April 30 at the association’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Convention & Expo in Orlando. Criteria include service quality, facility condition, and active association membership.
