The Friends of Cansiglio Committee reported that the Cansiglio plateau, the largest forest in Veneto, is turning into a parking lot for motorhomes due to increasing parking areas. Regional authorities and Veneto Agricoltura, instead of limiting the flow, expanded the motorhome area on the former military base, which the committee says leads to overtourism and ecosystem degradation. The committee demands the creation of a natural park and relocation of tourist infrastructure outside the forest.
