The growing popularity of motorhomes in Romania was evident at a specialized fair in Cluj. Among the models on display was the Forster T699 HB, built on a Fiat Ducato chassis with a 140 hp diesel engine, measuring nearly seven meters in length and designed for four people. It features a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet, a double bed and an additional drop-down bed, a 142-liter refrigerator, Truma Combi heating, stationary air conditioning, a rearview camera, an awning, and large fresh and waste water tanks. The exhibited 2023 model with approximately 48,000 km was priced at nearly 60,000 euros. Compact Elnagh E-Van models, ranging from 5.99 to 6.36 meters in length, were also presented, with prices starting from 45,000 euros and reaching 52,000 euros for the Premium version.
Dacia has introduced an optional Pack Sleep for its 2025 Bigster hybrid SUV. The module converts the cargo area into a double bed with integrated storage compartments. The solution is positioned as a budget alternative to full-size campers and trailers, allowing the vehicle to be used for daily driving.
In Ploiești, two local regulations (HCL No. 253/2021 and HCL No. 96/2009) explicitly prohibit parking caravans on public property, including residential areas and sidewalks. However, in 2025–2026, SGU Ploiești did not tow a single caravan because the police never issued such orders. As a result, despite the ban, caravans continue to occupy parking spaces in front of apartment buildings.
From July 7, 2026, new EU safety requirements apply to new motorhomes, mandating automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, and a black box. Prices may rise by 1000–3000 euros.
On June 27–28, the second edition of Ardealul pe Roți is held in Cluj-Napoca. Over 70 vehicles from 35 exhibitors are displayed near BTarena and Cluj Arena. Admission is free.
On June 18, a fire broke out in Boldești-Scăeni, Romania, affecting a house, an outbuilding and a caravan. The total burned area was about 300 sq m. Three fire engines and an SMURD ambulance responded. A 76-year-old woman was treated for a panic attack.
