On the evening of July 26, firefighters received a report of a camper van on fire on the 61st kilometer of the Kaunas–Marijampolė road, near Grigaliūnai village, Kazlų Rūda municipality. The Fiat Ducato camper was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. The vehicle and all household items inside were completely destroyed. The driver was identified as a German citizen. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
On July 25 at approximately 18:34, a Fiat Ducato camper van belonging to a German citizen caught fire and was completely destroyed on the A5 Kaunas–Marijampolė highway at the 61st kilometre near Grigaliūnai village. Firefighters extinguished the open flames; the vehicle and its contents were lost. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Lithuanian designer Viktorija Jakučinskaitė and her husband have purchased a 2002 motorhome. In an Instagram video she showed the interior: a bedroom with a double bed, a kitchen with stove and microwave, and a living area seating six. Jakučinskaitė said she wants to travel year-round, but her husband disagrees. The family previously rented similar motorhomes in Italy.
A camper van and a summer kitchen caught fire on Monday around noon in Mediniai Strėvininkai village. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about half an hour; the camper was completely destroyed.
On July 13, a camper in Medinis-Striavininkai village burned completely, and the fire spread to a summer kitchen. The roof collapsed, walls were damaged, and an investigation is underway.
A resident reported that camper vans with foreign plates are illegally parking near a kindergarten and sculpture park. Police have opened four administrative cases.
