RV traveller reports late-night attack in Newfoundland and Labrador

Chuck Hayden, a full-time RV traveller, reported that a group threw items at his vehicle and banged on it in Flowers Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador, around 3 a.m. on July 9. The incident was reported to the RCMP. The Town of Flowers Cove stated it is installing cameras in response to an 'ongoing pattern of disrespect and destruction on municipal property,' including vandalism and misuse of off-road vehicles. Hayden, who sold his home and has been travelling for four and a half years, said the experience has not changed his love for the province.

One Dead and Another Seriously Injured in Crash Near Whitbourne

A woman died after a collision between an RV and a car on the Trans-Canada Highway near Whitbourne. The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. on July 14, and the highway was closed until 1:00 a.m. on July 15. The 71-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene; a passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the RV were assessed by paramedics. The cause is under investigation.

Couple from Baunatal drives 8,500 km through Canada in motorhome

Marion and Josef Geisler from Baunatal completed a six-week trip through Canada in a rented motorhome, covering 8,500 km. They flew from Frankfurt to Toronto on May 11, rented a motorhome, and traveled from the east coast to Vancouver. During the trip, they observed bald eagles and black bears, and attended a public viewing of the World Cup match Germany vs. Ivory Coast, declining to buy tickets due to high prices (€850–3,000).

Callander extends overnight parking for next ice fishing season

The municipality of Callander, Ontario, has extended a pilot program allowing overnight parking in two designated municipal lots for ice anglers for the 2026–2027 season. The general overnight parking ban remains in effect on all other streets and lots. Signs will be installed at the exempt lots to improve public awareness. After the season, staff will assess usage and enforcement data before council decides on making the program permanent.
