Somerset Council has granted permanent planning permission for six static caravans on land owned by councillor Marcus Kravis in Blue Anchor. The temporary permission, granted four years ago due to coastal erosion risks, has been made permanent after the council spent £3.7 million on a coastal defence scheme including granite rock armour at the cliff base. The planning committee voted unanimously to remove the five-year removal condition, arguing the immediate risk to residents and tourists has been sufficiently reduced, though some councillors noted potential erosion of soft cliffs at the eastern end.
