Amboise: Over 150 caravans attempt to access Île d'Or, authorities block entry

On June 11, firefighters responded to a call about a motorist with a caravan trapped by the rising tide on the Passage du Gois, the road to Noirmoutier. The driver had already reached the shore by the time rescuers arrived. The vehicle and caravan were 150 meters from the shore and were cordoned off. The operation ended around 2:00 PM.

Amy Edwards, 40, along with her husband and five children, left the UK to travel Europe in a motorhome. The family bought the vehicle in July 2025, visited Wales, and then moved to France. Plans include Spain and Portugal. Amy homeschools the children, calling the British school system 'too rigid'.

As part of the 'Partir en Livre' initiative, sound storytelling sessions are held in the La Grande Illusion caravan in Haut-Béarn. Children select an object from 18 compartments, and a volunteer storyteller, alongside sound engineer Mario Bompart, creates a live radio play with sound effects and music. Each session is recorded and emailed to families. Events take place at libraries in Ogeu-les-Bains, Agnos, Aren, and Gurmençon from June 17 to 25.

Sister brands Pilote and Bavaria have presented their new 2027 collection of A-class motorhomes. The front features a bold, angular design inspired by automotive styling, with a trapezoidal grille and contrasting black-and-white elements. Changes also include the rear, kitchen backsplash, and seat headrests. The design accommodates advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

French manufacturer Le Voyageur has unveiled a redesigned interior for its Eterna and Héritage model lines for 2027. The motorhomes now feature a wine drawer, built-in coffee machine, inductive smartphone charger, and 360-degree camera. Prices start at €139,400 for Eterna and €157,900 for Héritage.

Krvacamp has been appointed as the new commercial agent for Adria and Elios motorhomes in France, replacing Socanor, which handled imports for nearly 30 years. Since June 1, 2026, Krvacamp manages the distribution of all models produced at the Adria Mobil plant in Slovenia. Over the past 12 months (June 2025 – May 2026), Adria ranked second in the French market with 1,390 registered motorhomes.
