A tractor-trailer collided with a pickup truck towing a camper early Tuesday on State Route 14 in the Town of Phelps, sending one person to the hospital. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Latavia Toussant of Shelburne, Vermont, was driving a 2025 GMC Sierra northbound while towing a 2019 Cherokee camper. A northbound 2020 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by 54-year-old Christopher Hardy of Union Springs struck the camper from behind, then hit the pickup, sending both vehicles off the road into a field. Toussant was transported to Geneva General Hospital with neck pain; Hardy declined treatment. The cause of the crash could not be determined, and no tickets were issued.
