An Irish court has demanded the resolution of a six-year-old caravan theft case. Stephen Ward admitted stealing a 8.2-metre (27-foot) Hobby 570 caravan valued at €9,200 from Falcarragh, County Donegal, in September 2019.

Gardai tracked the caravan using dozens of CCTV cameras over 169–170 km to Monaghan. Total damage was assessed at €4,471. Ward has paid €1,245 and later an additional €500, leaving a balance of around €2,500.

The judge gave Ward until March 2023 to pay the remaining compensation, but the case remained unresolved. A bench warrant was issued after Ward failed to appear in court. The next hearing is set for May 22, 2026; earlier reports also mentioned January 2026.

Cork council to investigate after concerns boat and campervan owners are dumping human waste into sea

Cork County Council has launched an investigation into the possible illegal discharge of effluent by boat and campervan owners. The move follows complaints about coastal pollution, including the loss of Blue Flag status at Fountainstown Beach. The county has only one civic campervan/motorhome facility with waste disposal, in Cobh, but reports have emerged of human waste being dumped into the sea near Cuskinny beach and other scenic spots in West Cork.
