How to read the plate
The Central African CEMAC plate has black characters on white: two letters, three digits and two more letters (BB 534 DG). The first pair is the series and plate type, the last pair is the code of the prefecture of registration (BG for Bangui, MP for Ombella-M'Poko, UK for Ouaka and so on). On the left are the CEMAC emblem and the letters RCA.

History
The current CEMAC plates have been issued since 1 September 2006. Before that plates were black (later blue) and the prefecture was also shown by letters, but some codes differed: AC for Ouham, HM for Haut-Mbomou, HS for Haute-Sangha, KB for Gribingui, NM for Nana-Mambéré, OP for Ouham-Pendé. No codes have been found for the prefectures created in 2020.
