Custom text: real plates never carry this combination.
This image is not a license plate: it must not be fitted to a vehicle and does not mean the combination is available.
How to read the plate
The South Sudanese plate has two lines: the flag and the letters SSD on top, then three digits and one or two Latin letters below (860 AJ). It is a single national series, so the plate shows no region. Several colour versions are seen — black on white, white on black, green on white — but the sources do not explain what they mean.

History
From 2005 to 2017 each of the ten states had its own plate series. The new national SSD series was announced in March 2017 and became mandatory on 13 December 2017; on 7 November 2017 the state series CE, EE, SSJS, UNS, WS and NBGS were cancelled. The sources give no complete list of codes for all ten states.
