Propane pigtail

Gas & Heating USA

Propane pigtail, gas pigtail, RV propane hose, high-pressure pigtail hose, POL pigtail, QCC pigtail, gas cylinder hose

A propane pigtail is a flexible high-pressure gas hose with a POL or QCC fitting on one end and a ¼″ NPT thread for the regulator on the other. It connects the propane cylinder to the changeover regulator. Operating pressure is 8–17 bar.

Standard length is 30 or 45 cm. Service life per EN 16129 / NFPA 1192 is 5–7 years, after which replacement is mandatory even without visible damage. Wear signs: cracks in the braid, oxidized fittings, leaks detected by soapy water. Replace in pairs. Not to be confused with the low-pressure hose from the regulator to the appliances (8–12 mm, 30/37/50 mbar), which runs at low pressure.
