Iowa has become the 25th U.S. state to create a dedicated Office of Outdoor Recreation (OREC). Governor Kim Reynolds signed the executive order on June 8 at Lake Ahquabi State Park. The state's outdoor recreation economy generates $5.9 billion annually and supports nearly 48,000 jobs. The office is expected to boost these figures through public-private partnerships and infrastructure development, including campgrounds and trails.

California-based Polydrops has launched a limited edition of the P21X caravan (20 units) with increased ground clearance and reinforced suspension. The model features 1300W solar panels and a 5–10 kWh battery, enabling all systems, including air conditioning, to run for over a week without external power. Price starts at $76,900.

A motor home towing a Jeep overturned on a hillside near Indian Creek in Donegal Township, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday evening. First responders arriving at 6:40 p.m. found a man still strapped in his seat and hanging out the window. The man and a woman, believed to be a married couple in their 70s, were taken to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville; their condition was not available. Route 31 was closed until 8 p.m.

A man died in Berkeley, California, in May after contracting leptospirosis while living in a severely rat-infested RV. A woman who lived with him also fell ill but recovered after a lengthy hospitalization. City officials said these are the first human cases of leptospirosis in Berkeley in over a decade. According to the city, the couple had been trapping, feeding and breeding wild rats — though the rats were not kept in cages, and the couple said they did not know how to handle the infestation. Nearly 200 rats were removed from the RV.

Green Day has released a trailer for the comedy film "Nimrods," inspired by their early van touring days. The plot follows three friends on a road trip from Kansas to Los Angeles. The US premiere is set for August 14.
