Dutch company Vantrack has introduced the LightCamp modular system for the Kia PV5 Passenger. It includes removable sleeping, kitchen, storage modules and a roof tent, all installed without drilling or bolting.
Byeonsanbando National Park in Buan County, South Korea, has added hanok-style caravans at Jiksocheon Campground, which opened in May 2026. The facility comprises 30 caravans and 50 vehicle camping sites. The park, designated a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2023, features coastal cliffs like Chaeseokgang and Jeokbyeokgang, Jikso Waterfall, and the fir tree path at Naesosa Temple.
At the Tokyo Camping Car Show 2026, four Japanese camper van converters, official Kia dealers, presented their versions of the new Kia PV5 electric minivan. The 4.7-metre-long model features a sliding door and is positioned as an alternative to the Toyota HiAce for sleeping in the car.
Danho Sand Park, a recreational facility in Andong, South Korea, will partially reopen on July 16 after a 2.6 billion won renovation. The former foot volleyball court has been converted into a children's water play area and playground, and the basketball court into a 6-hole mini golf course and lawn. Camping decks have been expanded from 3×6 m to 5×8 m to accommodate large family tents. Reservations for August will open on July 14 at 9 PM via the park's website.
South Korean company M-TOS RV, which specializes in detachable campers for pickup trucks, aims to change how vehicles are used. CEO Choi Gi-soo stated that the company's goal is not just to build campers but to create a new lifestyle, allowing one vehicle to serve both work and leisure. The company develops a system where a camper can be mounted on a pickup only when needed, leaving the truck usable for daily tasks otherwise. M-TOS RV claims to be the only company in Korea legally permitted to modify vehicle structures for camper installation and holds four patents for its tie-down systems.
On July 9 at around 4:55 p.m., a large caravan being transported on a truck fell onto the road at Sinbok intersection in Ulsan. No injuries were reported, but severe traffic congestion occurred. Police are investigating the driver.
