A kilometer-based truck toll will be introduced in the Netherlands on July 1, 2026. Motorhomes registered as M1 category vehicles are exempt from this toll, but owners of vehicles over 3.5 tons are advised to pre-register on vrachtwagenheffing.nl/de to avoid erroneous fines. Separately, since the end of 2024, a toll on the A24 (Blankenburgverbinding) near Rotterdam applies to all vehicles, including motorhomes, with payment required within 72 hours.

In most Dutch municipalities, caravans, campers, and trailers cannot be left on public roads for more than three consecutive days. Violators face a fine of 129 euros, and repeat offenses may result in the vehicle being towed at the owner's expense.

Motorhome owners continue traveling during cold seasons using heating in their vehicles. They choose Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands for short spontaneous trips, paying for parking via mobile app at 10 euros per night.

At the Campervan Days event in the Netherlands, 15 manufacturers presented the latest compact campers based on VW, Mercedes, Ford, and Hymer vehicles. Interest in compact models is growing as they can be used as daily drivers, offer better maneuverability, and have lower running costs. The exhibition featured a notable presence of electric VW ID.Buzz vehicles equipped with solar panels and induction cooktops.

New motorhome sales are expected to grow by 2.8% in 2026 despite an increase in road tax. Five used models on Marktplaats priced up to €25,000 offer savings of €75,000–85,000 compared to new vehicles. The selection includes a 2003 Volkswagen T4 California for €24,900, a 1998 Hymer B534 for €14,500, a 2015 Ford Transit for €22,500, a 2009 Knaus Sport Traveller for €23,950, and a 2004 Renault Bürstner Delfin for €23,500.

Dutch manufacturer Lume Traveler has introduced the Adventure caravan starting at €69,950. The 5.19-meter long, 1500 kg model has virtually no living space inside, instead featuring a full-size 160×200 cm double bed and a completely external kitchen with a gas cooker and 40-liter refrigerator.
