In Lithuania, the average campervan rental price is around €88 per day, ranging from €30–35 for a towable caravan to €170 for premium 2025 models. Experts highlight that early booking and longer rental periods can lead to significant savings, especially during the peak summer season when prices rise by 30–50%. According to Eurostat, in 2025, EU campsites and motorhome parks recorded 413 million overnight stays, a 28.5% increase over the past decade.
Starting July 7, 2026, all new motorhomes, campervans, and caravans registered in the EU must be equipped with mandatory advanced safety systems. These include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, driver drowsiness detection, and others. The added equipment is expected to raise vehicle prices by €1,000 to €3,000. The rules also apply to self-built camper conversions if they are registered as new vehicles.
Laima Krasauskienė from Klaipėda and her partner Kazys have visited 32 countries in four years using an old camper purchased for €4,000. The couple travels solely on their pensions: each receives €800 per month, plus an additional €51. They avoid expensive campsites, preferring wild camping, and cook from supplies like canned meat and mushrooms. Future plans include Turkey, Bulgaria, and Georgia.
