The nonprofit organization 'Wellbeing' based in Gifu City has converted a used camper van into a mobile shelter for cats. About 3.6 million yen (approx. $24,000) was raised through crowdfunding. In normal times, the vehicle is used for adoption events; during disasters, it serves as temporary housing for pets and transports food and litter to affected areas. JP Home Supply will set up a disaster mobile toilet trailer at the Wajima Citizens' Festival 2026 on June 6, 2026, in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture. The trailer was previously used at a shelter after the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake. The company aims to showcase comfortable toilet solutions to prevent disaster-related deaths.
