The crossing takes 48 to 72 hours with a stop in the Faroe Islands, operates once a week, and requires booking several months in advance. Motorhome fares range from €800 to €2,500 one way, plus a cabin from €80. In Iceland, wild camping is prohibited, with 185 campsites and 5 service areas available; winter tyres are mandatory from 1 November to 15 April, and the blood alcohol limit is 0.2 g/L. Bringing pets requires a permit, a two-week quarantine, and rabies vaccination.
