Motorhome fire on A6 near Neuendettelsau causes traffic chaos

A motorhome caught fire on the A6 near Neuendettelsau on the afternoon of the incident. The fire started in a construction zone. According to police, no one was injured. The highway towards Schwabach was completely closed, with delays also on the opposite side. The full closure lasted about an hour, after which traffic was gradually allowed past the scene. Campsite on the Elbe Island of Lühesand officially reopens

The campsite on Lühesand (Stade district) opened on May 29, delayed from the planned Easter start due to extensive cleanup and renovations. New tenant Philipp Köhnken completely replaced water, sewage, and electrical lines and added internet access. The site features a family beach club with six bouncy castles, two beach volleyball courts, a children's water slide, and a beach soccer field. The season runs until the end of October; the campsite was closed in 2025.
