All NewsAuthorities in Lovech Province have ordered the removal of all illegal structures and caravans placed without permission in the Sopot Reservoir basin. Inspections, launched after complaints, also found piers, pontoons and fences. Removal will begin after administrative procedures are completed.
An illegal campsite with solid fences, surveillance cameras and caravans was discovered in the sanitary protection zone of the Yovkovtsi reservoir near the village of Shilkovtsi. The violation was found during a joint inspection by regional authorities and water utility officials. The reservoir's water is the main source of drinking water for a large part of Veliko Tarnovo Province.
An illegal campsite was discovered in the sanitary zone of the Yovkovtsi reservoir, near the village of Shilkovtsi, Elena municipality. The inspection, led by Veliko Tarnovo regional governor Marin Bogomilov and the heads of the reservoir and water utility 'Yovkovtsi', engineers Angel Stoyanov and Rosen Naydenov, found a fenced area with caravans, tents, a barbecue, and surveillance cameras. Gravel was laid to allow vehicles access to the water.

A Fiat camper parked on the shore of the Kardzhali Reservoir caught fire yesterday around 4 p.m. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which destroyed the vehicle and personal documents. Preliminary cause: an electrical appliance left on. Firefighters from Podkova also put out burning shrubs and waste near a holiday village by Druzhintsi village, and dry grass near a pumping station in Momchilgrad. In Momchilgrad, rescuers captured a snake in a garage and released it in a safe location.
