Vale Verde association to get motorhome as mobile base for emergency operations

The National Natural Disasters Association (ANDN) in Vale Verde will receive a motorhome to serve as a mobile base during flood, storm, and tornado response operations. The privately donated motorhome will feature solar power, satellite internet, and rest areas, enabling a nine-person team to work autonomously in disaster zones. The vehicle is expected to reduce reliance on affected municipalities' infrastructure. The association's first mission took place in Rio Bonito do Iguaçu after a tornado in November 2025.

The Casinha Viageira project by Cia Doispralá Doispracá will make its first tour in Rio de Janeiro state. On September 12, 2026, the vehicle will stop at Praça Vital Brasil in Niterói at 10:00 and in Maricá at 17:00. The free event features storytelling, literary mediation, and a mobile library. A couple of digital content creators bought a motorhome worth R$ 1.7 million for an expedition from Ushuaia to Alaska. The vehicle, built on an Iveco 70-180 chassis, was modified for extreme conditions, including independent power and climate systems, and features a kitchen with a three-burner cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, split bathroom, bedroom with a king bed, and two TVs. The journey has already covered over 20,000 km, with plans to cross the Darién Gap by sea.

Motorhome catches fire in Imbituba, Brazil

A Kombi-based motorhome caught fire on the morning of Thursday, August 20, in the Campo da Aviação neighborhood of Imbituba, Brazil. Firefighters were called at 11:32 a.m. and used approximately 1,000 liters of water to extinguish the blaze, which destroyed the rear of the vehicle. The 68-year-old driver said the fire started in the engine area. No injuries were reported.
