Hong Kong closes three campsites over long-term occupation of pitches

The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) of Hong Kong, together with police, conducted a two-day joint operation to clear the Tai Tan and Wan Tsai South campsites in Sai Kung. Authorities ordered long-term occupants to leave and removed all unclaimed tents and belongings. Both campsites are temporarily closed for site maintenance. Earlier, the Wong Shek campsite was closed for the same reason, bringing the total to three popular campsites in Sai Kung suspended in two months.

Hong Kong tightens licensing rules for campsites, guesthouses

The Home Affairs Department issued two guidelines on licensing guesthouses, building campsites, RV parks, tent sites, and village houses. All unauthorized building works in village houses must be removed and the original layout restored. Campsites must have 24-hour staff, and a five-meter no-fire zone is required around each RV or tent. Renting out grassland without fixed structures may be exempt from licensing.

New Gonow Recreational Vehicles Inc. reported that all resolutions at its annual general meeting on June 26, 2026, were approved by shareholders via poll. About 869.6 million shares were entitled to vote, and all motions passed with 100% support among votes cast, including adoption of the 2025 audited financial statements, re-election of directors, and re-appointment of KPMG as auditor. The company, incorporated in the Cayman Islands and listed in Hong Kong, is part of a group controlled by Snowy.M Holdings Limited and has implemented employee stock option and share award schemes.

Hong Kong mulls including Guangdong vehicles in Lantau self-drive quota

Hong Kong's Transport and Logistics Minister Chen Meibao stated that all annual self-drive quotas for Lantau Island (about 12,000) have been fully allocated over the past three years, with over 84,000 applications in 2023. Authorities are considering including Guangdong vehicles in the quota, extending permits for overnight stays, and increasing the quota for electric vehicles, but consultations with local residents and the district council are needed.
