Motorhome blocks E18 highway

A motorhome owner accused Larvik municipality of discrimination after a total ban on motorhomes at Mølen beach, where cars can park for up to 10 hours. The municipality rejected the complaint, citing the claimant's lack of legal standing to challenge the sign and a zoning plan that bans 'transportable buildings'. Softer measures, like time limits, were dismissed due to enforcement difficulties.

A 36-year-old man from Finnmark stole a 5-tonne motorhome from Akland (Risør). The crime occurred last summer-autumn. The suspect is also linked to a car theft and a trip to Finland.

A motorhome broke down on the E18 highway in Agder, Norway, blocking eastbound traffic. Police arrived at the scene, and the road was reopened by 10:53.

Managing director Halvor Barikmo leads three employees and a fourth person in taking over the business and establishing Kristiansand Caravan og Fritid AS. Norway is introducing new restrictions for travelers using cars and motorhomes due to issues with illegal parking, queues, and unauthorized overnight stays. Last year, 365 motorhomes were recorded passing along the E10 highway in a single night, putting heavy pressure on the road network. A maximum parking time of two to four hours will be enforced at nine rest areas along the E10, and overnight stays will be banned at several locations, including Lofoten and Stegastein.
