Yeongdeok and Ulleung to showcase campsites at Local Brand Fair 2026

The Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground in Bonghwa County, opened last October as a cooperation project between Suwon and Bonghwa, recorded 6,067 cumulative visitors by May 31, 2026. This is a 67% increase compared to the same period under previous management. Occupancy rose from 30.9% to 71.3%. Suwon residents accounted for about 67% of visitors (4,038 people). The site offers 12 motorhome pitches, 6 caravans, 5 tent sites, and 7 glamping units.

The Cheongnyangsan camping site, developed through collaboration between Suwon and Bonghwa County, saw a 67% increase in visitors compared to when it was operated solely by the county. Occupancy rate rose from 30.9% to 71.3%, with 67% of guests being Suwon residents. The success is attributed to Bonghwa transferring the land and operating rights to Suwon for 10 years, which invested in facility upgrades. For the summer season, expansion includes 12 auto-camping spots and 18 accommodation units (caravans, glamping), along with new programs (craft workshops, stargazing) and integration with local tourist attractions.

The Cheongnyangsan Suwon Campground, opened under a cooperation agreement between Suwon and Bonghwa, offers visitors a range of summer activities. These include making constellation lanterns, yoga and meditation therapy, crafting syrups from local specialties, and woodworking classes. The campground features 18 accommodation units, including auto camping zones, caravans, and glamping. Since its opening in October 2024, it has attracted 6,067 visitors, a 67% increase compared to the previous period.

The Suwon camping site at Cheongnyangsan Mountain in Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, will open reservations for August on July 1. Applications are accepted via the Campingtalk app and website until July 15, followed by a lottery. Half of the spots are reserved for residents of Suwon and Bonghwa, the rest are random. The site has 12 auto-camping spots and 18 accommodation units (caravans, glamping).

In the South Korean city of Yeosu, campsites are becoming an alternative to hotels during the summer season. Ungcheon Waterfront Park Campground, a 10-minute drive from the city center, offers beach access and nearby amenities, while Nangdo Campground on an island provides seclusion and rates from 40,000–50,000 won per night. Both sites are drawing tourists ahead of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo.

Jeongseon County Youth Center ran the 2026 Forest family communication camp on March 27–28. Fourteen families from three townships participated. They stayed in caravans at Pinocchio Forest Camping Site in Wonju, Gangwon Province. Activities included team games, reptile encounters, forest play, and foot baths, all designed to strengthen family bonds.
