Hastings Borough Council rejected Haven Leisure Ltd's application to install 15 new static caravans at Combe Haven Holiday Park in St Leonards. The proposal would have built on green space previously used as a golf course, drawing 89 objections from residents and environmentalists. Concerns included noise, wildlife disturbance, and flood risk, given the site's proximity to Filsham Reedbed Local Nature Reserve and Combe Haven Site of Special Scientific Interest. A similar application was also withdrawn in 2017 after public opposition.
