Net hire fee

Legal & Registration

Net hire fee, net rate, base rental price, hire fee excluding VAT, headline rate, net price

The net hire fee is the base price of the vehicle for the rental period, excluding VAT, driver insurance and add-on packages. Commission is calculated on it, which is why it is the figure used in advertising.

The final invoice usually lands 30–60 % above the net figure once VAT, insurance and excess reduction, service fee, bedding and kitchen packs, mileage allowance, second driver, bike rack, one-way charge and out-of-hours collection are added. Offers are only comparable on the full total for specific dates. Ask separately about the excess and the deposit held on the card — neither is part of the price at all.
