Ranking 2026: Germany's best campsites named

The Pincamp portal has ranked Europe's most popular campsites. 86 of the top 100 are in Germany, Croatia and Italy, with Germany leading at 30 sites. Most of Germany's top-10 campsites are in the north; the best in Bavaria is Campingplatz Pilsensee (10th in Germany), located 40 km from Munich. For the 2027 season, manufacturers are presenting alternative layouts that break with the standard campervan design. The Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, from August 28 to September 6, 2026, will showcase these innovations, including the Dreamer D64 Select with the first queen-size bed in a campervan, the Rocket Bike with an XXL garage for four bicycles, the Flowcamper Max Grande with a roof sofa, the Westfalia Columbus Liner with a two-story layout, and the Matist L with a two-meter bed on a Ford Transit base.
