On Sunday, July 19, a caravan overturned on the A2 motorway at kilometer 169, heading toward Bucharest. According to initial reports, no injuries occurred. Emergency services dispatched included a fire engine, a rescue team, an SMURD helicopter, and an ambulance crew.
Dacia has unveiled the Striker, a rugged estate car with raised ground clearance. At 462 cm, it is the longest model in the Dacia lineup. Boot capacity is 600 litres. Ground clearance is 19–20 cm. Three powertrains are offered: a 1.2-litre mild hybrid, a 1.8-litre full hybrid, and a 4x4 version with a 1.2-litre engine plus an electric motor on the rear axle. Sales begin in early 2025, starting at €25,000.
A pilot project to create infrastructure for motorhome tourists in wine regions has been launched in Romania, initiated by VINARIUM and ADI Ținutul Vinului. The project includes a demonstration tour of Prahova wineries to assess existing infrastructure and inform landowners. Europe has over 12,000 such sites in France and 8,000 in Germany, while Romania has about 20. Minimum investment for a basic 4–6 pitch site is 15,000–40,000 lei, with average nightly fees of €15–35.
A Romanian owner is selling a camping kit for the Dacia Jogger on OLX that turns the car into a two-person sleeping space. Assembly takes 3–4 minutes, and the price is 1,400 lei. The kit consists of folding wooden panels stored in the boot and requires no permanent modifications to the vehicle.
Romanian publication Lovedeco compiled seven stories of people who converted vans and motorhomes into permanent dwellings. Budgets range from €800 to €20,000, and vehicles include a Volkswagen T3, Citroën Jumper, and a 1994 Ford. All projects share the idea that home is defined not by an address but by lifestyle.
