Verdde hotel in central Lakselv, Norway, has created four motorhome parking spaces in its backyard. The spots are equipped with electrical hookups. The initiative is part of the hotel's development and aims to serve the growing number of motorhome tourists visiting Finnmark.
During a roadside check at Seljestad control station on Saturday afternoon, one trailer was deregistered due to poor technical condition, and a car with a trailer was banned from use for overloading. A total of 19 heavy vehicles and 6 vans were inspected. The trailer driver was also fined for lacking a registration certificate.
A Norwegian couple purchased a Hymer motorhome from dealer Kroken Caravan for 2.75 million SEK, described as being of 'excellent quality'. The day after delivery, a tag reading 'donor car' was found on the key. An inspection revealed faults in 12 out of 13 points, including loose bolts and exposed wiring. Repairs to make the vehicle safe were estimated at 2.5 million SEK. Before the case reached the appeals court, the dealer agreed to cancel the sale.
Swedish importer Bergholm Fritidsfordon has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Knaus Tabbert AG for exclusive import and distribution of Knaus, Weinsberg, Tabbert and T@b brands in Norway. Full launch is planned for autumn 2026.
A couple from Sunnmøre bought a 2023 Hymer motorhome from dealer Kroken Caravan. Within a month, multiple faults emerged, including engine issues. An inspection found defects in 12 of 13 key points, and the court ruled the vehicle had been used as a parts donor. The parties reached a settlement.
On the morning of May 27, a smoke incident occurred in a motorhome in the Åsenfjord area of Levanger, Norway. One person was inside, no injuries were reported. Traffic was blocked; preliminary cause is battery overheating.
