On the Porvoonväylä highway in Finland, a motorhome veered into a ditch. A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene. Information on casualties and the circumstances of the accident is being clarified.
On Monday afternoon, a motorhome ran off the road in Porvoo and overturned. Traffic on Highway 7 towards Kotka was completely stopped. Two people were injured and taken to hospital.
A camper van was completely destroyed in a fire in Hollola on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. Firefighters arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to the surrounding area but was brought under control. Firefighting efforts were complicated by gas cylinders commonly found in camper vans with cooking facilities.
Piia Kyrö from Tampere, a third-generation caravanner, faced negative reactions from other drivers to her white caravan. The solution was repainting the trailer in a bright ladybug design, using 27 cans of spray paint. According to Kyrö, the hostile looks stopped after that.
Arto Junttila, 64, built a unique motorhome from an old US police car, a 1969 Dodge Power Giant, purchased for €4,200. The interior is finished like a log cabin, reflecting his desire for an ascetic yet atmospheric travel companion for trips around Finland.
