In July, RIEW-Varna inspectors found three chemical toilets in the protected area 'Stepite' near Bolata beach, Kavarna municipality, installed without the required approval under the Protected Areas Act. Administrative penalty proceedings will be initiated. Separately, in the protected area 'Liman', following reports of camping, parked caravans without registration plates were discovered; circumstances are being clarified.

Dimitrovgrad hosted a three-day camper rally, drawing dozens of camping enthusiasts. The event was held in the city for the seventh consecutive year. Participants noted a shortage of designated camping sites in Bulgaria, leading many to prefer Greece and Turkey. The Vasilev family from Sofia has traveled by motorhome since 2005, visiting nearly 40 countries, including Morocco and Scandinavia.

A large-scale inspection in the forest area above Pasha dere beach in Bulgaria uncovered more than 50 caravans, tents, awnings, cars and other structures forming an illegal campsite. The operation, initiated by regional governor Mario Smarkov, involved police, environmental inspectors, forestry officials and the Avren municipality. Owners were given notices to remove their property by August 23 or face fines up to 3,000 leva. A previous inspection at Byala – Kara dere beach resulted in about 80% of caravans being removed.

A joint inspection near Pasha Dere in the Varna region found dozens of caravans and campers parked in forest areas and on the beach. Authorities from the regional administration, police, fire department, and forestry agency participated. Owners were given until August 23 to leave. Fines for illegal camping with a tent range from 500 to 1000 leva, and for vehicles from 1000 to 3000 leva.

In the protected area between Shabla Lighthouse and Tyulenovo, dozens of caravans and tents have been set up illegally. Local residents attribute the growth of wild camping to parking restrictions on the dunes at Krapets and Ezerets. The area is part of the Kaliakra Complex protected zone and Natura 2000. Starting October 1, a regulation will hold landowners responsible for illegal camping on their property. No candidates have applied to create a campsite in Dobrich Province.
