Algerian authorities have banned camping and movement in forest areas from May 1 to October 30, 2026, due to high wildfire risk. The measure includes a ban on barbecues, cooking, and gatherings in forest lands. Violators face up to six months in prison and fines. The decision follows several years of severe fires caused by climate change and heat.

Permit valid for up to 90 days, renewable with civil defense approval. License fee is 1,500 SAR, refundable deposit is 1,000 SAR. Fine for unlicensed camping is up to 10,000 SAR.

Environmental security forces detained a citizen for camping without a permit in the King Faisal bin Turki Reserve. The violator faces a fine of up to 3,000 Saudi riyals.
