Argentine drives 29 hours in motorhome to support national team at World Cup

A 46-year-old man from Homeland, California, was arrested on June 12 after sheriff's deputies found a loaded shotgun, a .45 caliber handgun, and over a quarter pound of methamphetamine in his motorhome at Lake Piru Campground. The arrest followed a domestic disturbance call on June 11 and a subsequent search warrant. The suspect was booked on multiple felony charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale and unlawful firearm transfer, but was released on bail the same day. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.

The Goodrich City Council discussed expansion of an RV park, road conditions, and an alderman vacancy. Ponderosa RV Park was approved to expand to 100 RV-only sites, without tiny houses. Utility manager noted RVs use less water (about 30 gallons per person per day vs. 100-120 for houses). Potholes on Pennington Road and a grant application for wastewater ponds were also discussed.

Installing a heavy-duty swivel seat base for $300 integrates the front cab into the living area of a campervan. The modification takes about 30 minutes and does not require removing the front end. The passenger seat rotates 180 degrees, creating additional lounge space without increasing the vehicle's length.

Airstream has launched the updated Rangeline 21PL camper van, built on the Ram ProMaster 3500. It features an electrically operated drop-down bed and a modular interior with longitudinal rails for flexible seating. The rear sofa can slide or be removed for cargo. Pricing starts at $173,400.

San Diego County sheriff's officials arrested two men in connection with the death of 52-year-old Ruben Cervantes, who was fatally assaulted inside his motorhome in January 2025. Adrian Garcia, 28, and Issac Santana, 26, were taken into custody on June 3 and booked into San Diego Central Jail. The assault occurred on Sweetwater Road on Jan. 19; deputies discovered Cervantes dead four days later during a medical aid call. An autopsy determined he died from injuries sustained in the attack.

Construction of an $8 million RV park with 67 hookup sites broke ground on June 11 in Danbury Township, Ohio. The project includes 16 permanent log cabins, a bathhouse, pavilion, commercial fish cleaning, boat and golf cart storage, laundromat, convenience and tackle store, bar, restaurant, and ice cream parlor. The first RV sites and six cabins are expected to open in spring 2027, with full completion by fall 2027.
