CAF offers state aid for purchasing a caravan as primary residence

Several dozen caravans have been parked at the entrance of Saint-Gervais and at the sports plain of Saint-André-de-Cubzac. The arrival was coordinated with local municipalities and the gendarmerie; the community has set up a marquee for ceremonies open to all residents. Participants committed to covering water, electricity, and waste disposal costs, while local businesses benefit from increased customer traffic.

Older children were taken out of school after the pandemic; younger ones never attended. The family plans to visit Spain and Portugal and eventually buy land for farming.

In Fareins (Ain department), about 15 caravans illegally occupied a football field used by Fareins Saône Vallée Foot club. The club suspended training indefinitely, citing risks of infrastructure damage and disruption of a veterans tournament. Earlier, around 200 caravans were reported on a field in Saint-André-de-Corcy.
