One third of the 2026 Tour de France caravan built in Eure-et-Loir

In Molinet, France, the parking area for motorhomes at the canal-side nautical halt has been expanded from 12 to 21 spaces. A new service station with electric vehicle charging and a bicycle repair station have been installed. The project cost €200,000.

From 23 to 27 April 2026, 14 exhibitions and open days dedicated to motorhomes, camper vans and vans will be held across France. Events include shows in Angoulême, Nîmes, Grenoble, Tarbes, La Rochelle, the 105th anniversary of manufacturer Notin in Panissières, and the 8th Camper Van Weekend in Brissac-Quincé. Admission to most events is free.

On June 27, 2026, a picnic for motorhome owners will be held at the summit of Pic du Midi de Bigorre (France). The event is organized by IRQUALIM – Les Qualivores d'Occitanie. Participants can take the cable car from La Mongie and taste regional products: AOP and IGP cheeses, Label Rouge meats, wines, and other specialties. Attendance is limited to 500 participants; advance registration is required.

As of May 1, 2026, four French departments (Landes, Lot-et-Garonne, Pas-de-Calais, Charente-Maritime) have introduced an experimental measure: drivers caught holding a phone while driving, even without any other traffic violation, face immediate administrative suspension of their license for 15 days to 6 months. Previously, such a penalty required a concurrent offense. Drivers with a serious traffic record may also be required to pay a 200-euro contribution to a victim support association. In the rest of France, the penalty remains a 135-euro fine and a 3-point deduction.

On Friday, June 19, the Gap court sentenced a man for thefts from cars and motorhomes in Briançon. The crimes occurred on the nights of June 14–15 and June 16–17. The defendant stated he had returned to France and needed money. Stolen items included phone chargers, lamps, food, a jacket, shoes, an action camera, and a drone. The sentence was eight months suspended imprisonment.

French company Cellule Boréale has developed an ultralight camper shell for pickup trucks. The unit is designed for overlanding and features enhanced durability and equipment.
