Kia Launches Carnival Hi-Lift with More Space and Lower Price

Kia has launched the Carnival High Roof, a new variant of its best-selling RV, with a roof height increased by 270 mm for improved headroom. The nine-seater model will be available first, followed by a seven-seater in the second half of the year. Prices range from 52.11 million won for the gasoline version to 60.21 million won for the hybrid.

In South Korea, campsites are increasingly refusing to refund deposits even when bookings are canceled immediately after payment. According to the Korea Fair Trade Commission, complaints about campsites rose from 81 in 2024 to 291 in 2025, with 173 related to refund denials. Authorities in North Chungcheong Province plan to inspect 60 campsites and 60 online platforms for compliance and propose a mandatory standard contract for the sector.

Starting August 28, amendments to the Parking Lot Act in South Korea impose fines of up to 1 million won (approx. $750) for parking a motorhome or caravan on a free public lot for more than one consecutive month without a valid reason. Blocking a parking lot entrance now carries a fine of up to 5 million won (approx. $3,750) and possible towing. Previously, owners could avoid penalties by moving their vehicle within the same lot; now enforcement covers the entire lot. However, experts warn that a lack of CCTV and staff may hinder enforcement, and the shortage of dedicated motorhome and caravan parking facilities remains unaddressed.

A South Korean couple of professional park golf players, traveling in a motorhome, secured a top-10 finish at the '2026 Hwacheon Couples National Park Golf Tournament' in Gangwon Province. The event took place on June 9–10 with 198 teams (396 participants). The couple leveraged experience from nationwide travels for consistent performance. They also share expertise through educational programs and YouTube.

The Yeongdo-gu district office in Busan organized a two-day camping trip for eight families with children enrolled in the Dream Start program. The event took place on June 10–11 at the Yeongdo Marino Auto Camping Site. Activities included walks, conversations, and relaxation in nature to strengthen family bonds.
