Hyundai Motor Group has sold 1.487 million hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) in the US over the past 10 years and 6 months, approaching the 1.5 million mark. The key growth driver is the RV (Recreational Vehicle) strategy, which includes SUVs and minivans. Since the launch of the first hybrid K5 in 2011, HEV sales have grown from 50,000 in 2022 to 100,000 in 2025. RVs account for 65% (97,000 units) of HEV sales. Top models include Tucson HEV (258,000), Santa Fe HEV (199,000), Sorento HEV (159,000), Sportage HEV (157,000), and K5 HEV (99,000). The hybrid share in the RV segment reaches 81.3%.
