Vehicle conversion approval is the legal process of documenting structural or use changes when a van is converted into a camper or motorhome.

Rules differ by country, but seats, seat belts, windows, gas systems, weight changes and vehicle category often require inspection or registration. It is a key issue for DIY conversions.
