Traila is the colloquial Spanish loanword for "trailer" used in Mexico and the US border zone. It can refer to a simple utility trailer or to a towed or self-propelled casa rodante. Common in rural Mexican speech.
Northern Mexico (Sonora, Chihuahua, Baja California) hosts thousands of US and Canadian snowbirds wintering in their "trailas" at RV parks — especially Puerto Peñasco / Rocky Point, San Felipe, and the Baja peninsula. The term coexists with motorhome, casa móvil, and casa rodante. Official paperwork uses remolque or vehículo recreativo.
