Ranchomóvil, rancho móvil, vintage Spanish-American motorhome, old casa rodante, rancho rodante
Ranchomóvil is a now-rare Spanish-language term for a motorhome or casa rodante that still appears in rural and nostalgic speech in several Spanish-speaking countries. It evokes the image of a humble "rancho" on wheels.
The term peaked in the 1960s–80s with the first motorhomes in Mexico, Argentina, and Spain. Today it mostly surfaces in vintage Facebook groups, classic motorhome restorations, and historical reporting. Everyday speech now uses motorhome, autocaravana, or casa rodante. Classic-vehicle auctions still recognise it as a category.
