A motorhome caught fire in Adjala-Tosorontio, Ontario. Firefighters, including a pumper and two tankers, responded to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported.

Humboldt RCMP are investigating the theft of a camper trailer that occurred between Aug. 7 and 9 in the RM of Prairie Rose. The white Dutchmen trailer has a slanted back bumper and hail damage on the left side. Anyone with information or dash cam/surveillance footage is asked to contact 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

St. Anthony RCMP are asking for public help to identify suspects in recent break-ins and damage at seasonal properties on the Northern Peninsula. On Monday morning, police responded to a camper trailer off Route 430 West near Milan Arm, where a window was damaged. The next evening, Roddickton RCMP received reports of two attempted break-ins and one break-in at seasonal properties in the Summer House Hill Cabin Area along Route 430. Suspects were captured on camera.

On Aug 6, a truck towing a camper rolled over on Highway 97 near 100 Mile House. Driver hospitalized, dog seriously hurt. Police also report speeding, thefts, impaired driving.

The trial of Alexandra Georgson, charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, began in North Vancouver provincial court. On Sept. 21, 2022, Georgson drove her 1979 Chevrolet camper van the wrong way on Highway 1 in West Vancouver for about 800 meters before colliding head-on with two vehicles, injuring five people. The defense argues she was in a psychotic state due to stress and lack of sleep, while the Crown contends her condition was drug- or alcohol-induced. Police found psilocybin mushrooms, gin, cannabis, and a prescription anti-psychotic in the van.
