Sweden registered 1,887 new motorhomes in the first four months of 2026, a 60% increase compared to 1,168 units in the same period of 2025. The average price of a new motorhome is around SEK 1 million. Demand is shifting toward smaller models, attracting a younger demographic that uses motorhomes for activities like surfing and mountain biking. Dealers report sustained interest throughout the year, not just during the spring and summer.
Ove Höglund from Sweden showcases his 18-meter bus-based motorhome, drawing attention at Engesberg camping. The living area covers 36 square meters, and the owner spends the entire summer there with his partner. The vehicle has become a local attraction, with some visitors asking to see its interior.
A debate has emerged in Lindesberg, Sweden, regarding the establishment of designated motorhome parking areas in the city center. Proponents argue that such facilities are essential for boosting local tourism and accommodating travelers.
In Sweden, on Östra Kustvägen between Kabusa and Hammar, a motorhome caught fire on the morning of May 30, 2026. A young tourist couple woke up to the smell of smoke and tried to extinguish the fire, but it was too late. The preliminary cause is a technical fault. The motorhome was completely destroyed.
Roller Team and Nobel Art are recalling several motorhome models produced between July 2025 and February 2026. The recall is due to a factory assembly defect where the grey water tank may come loose while driving, posing a serious accident risk. Owners are required to have their vehicles inspected at a workshop.
The 14-meter Polar Glacier caravan, built by Swedish manufacturer Polar in 2008, is back on the market.
