Campground operators in Vågan municipality, Lofoten, have asked local authorities to prohibit overnight parking of motorhomes on municipal parking lots. The request follows repeated incidents where motorhome tourists use campground facilities (showers, toilets, gray water disposal) without paying, and park at campground barriers. Business owners also argue that municipal lots, priced at around 300 NOK per night, divert customers from campgrounds charging 400–500 NOK.
From July 6 to 12, 2026, the Maran Ata Landsstevne will be held in Seljord, Norway. Organizers state that the Dyrskuplassen site can accommodate up to 3500 motorhomes. The highest attendance is expected towards the end of the week. Hotel accommodation is nearly unavailable, with camping being the primary option.
In Harstad, Norway, a rented motorhome caught fire while driving. The fire started under the passenger seat. Quick action by the driver prevented the vehicle from being fully engulfed.
On Thursday, a motorhome collided with a cyclist on Leinstrandvegen, north of Klett. Police reported low-speed impact with no injuries. The incident is considered an accident and no case will be opened.
