The nonprofit organization 'Wellbeing' based in Gifu City has converted a used camper van into a mobile shelter for cats. About 3.6 million yen (approx. $24,000) was raised through crowdfunding. In normal times, the vehicle is used for adoption events; during disasters, it serves as temporary housing for pets and transports food and litter to affected areas. The camper is equipped with solar panels, water supply, and air conditioning, and can accommodate at least eight cats.

The owner of a light camper (軽キャン) made their first trip to the Fumotopara campsite in Shizuoka Prefecture, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. Despite cloudy weather, they set up camp, cooked wagyu steak and yakisoba, and visited a local café and free bathhouse.
