Small radio problem, big despair! Camping pros opt for simple solution

In Moers, Germany, a motorhome and a car collided. Seven people were injured, two of them — the driver and passenger of the motorhome — seriously. Five occupants of the car sustained minor injuries and were discharged from hospital the same day. The circumstances of the accident are under investigation; the intersection is traffic-light controlled.

The tested Subaru Forester 2.0ie (2026) showed limited suitability for towing a caravan. It has a 136 hp petrol engine with CVT and electric motor, all-wheel drive, and 22 cm ground clearance. On 24 April, on the A3 motorway near the Wiesbaden interchange, a camper van rear-ended a car due to inattention, triggering a five-vehicle collision. Main lanes were fully closed, causing an 8 km traffic jam. Two people were taken to hospital; damage estimated at €90,000.

The Wasserburg municipal council approved the development plan for a special area for motorhomes and equestrian sports. The project includes an equestrian facility with a 48-space motorhome parking area on land previously used for orchards. A maximum of three tournaments per year (six days) is stipulated, and a mandatory booking system will reduce traffic. Construction starts in autumn, with opening planned for spring 2027.
