Xiaomi to launch Sky Nomad brand with large SUV N90

Dongfeng has introduced the Xinghai V9 hybrid minivan, marketed as a versatile vehicle for daily commutes and outdoor trips. The claimed range is 1,300 km, including 200 km on electric power. Fuel consumption with a depleted battery is about 5 L/100 km. The interior features seven seats, fold-flat rear seats creating a 1.8 m bed, and a 41-inch display setup. Key features include cabin life monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and self-parking.

Zhengzhou Nissan will officially launch the second-generation Nissan NV200 in Q4 2026. The model transitions from a commercial van to a plug-in hybrid MPV with a mild off-road design, targeting the growing vanlife and camping market. The powertrain is expected to be shared with the N6: a 1.5L engine (101 hp) and an electric motor (208 hp) paired with a 21.1 kWh LFP battery, offering up to 180 km of electric range. Pricing is anticipated to remain accessible, similar to the first generation ($11,700–$18,800).

Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new sub-brand, Sky Nomad, targeting camping and outdoor enthusiasts. Its first model, the N90, is a full-size SUV with an EREV powertrain, offering an electric range of 400–500 km and a total range of up to 1,500 km. The vehicle will feature air suspension, rear-wheel steering, and a roof-mounted LiDAR. Sales are expected to begin in Q4 2026, with prices ranging from 200,000 to 450,000 yuan.

Chinese authorities included support for 'small and beautiful' tourism formats, including RV campsites, in central government documents for 2026. Jiangsu Province has already implemented a program to create roadside RV campsites on expressways. In Wuxi, where several wetland parks are located, RV campsites are gaining popularity, offering half-day RV rentals from 500 yuan (about $70).

On June 19, the Fourth Motorcycle Tourism Season kicked off at the East Taihang scenic area in Wu'an County, Hebei Province, bringing together motorhomes, caravans, and motorcyclists. The event runs until June 28 and features three themed stages: a self-drive rally (June 19–21), a motorhome festival (June 22–25), and a motorcycle festival (June 26–28). Chinese manufacturer Yuejie has introduced the R62 motorhome, a vehicle under 6 meters long designed for both city commuting and light off-road travel. It features a 2.3L diesel engine with 174 hp and 430 Nm of torque, an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. The electrical system includes a 10 kWh battery, 400W solar panels, and a 110-liter fresh water tank. The price is around 200,000 yuan.
