Honda introduces ZR-V Cross Touring special edition for outdoor enthusiasts

Japanese manufacturer Anex Camping has launched the UTONE 500 model based on the Toyota HiAce. The interior is compared to a model room, with sleeping space for two adults and three children.

Kameoka City in Kyoto Prefecture has completed a dedicated car-sleeping evacuation shelter, 'Car Shelter Nomizu', in Yoshikawa Town. The facility covers about 10,000 square meters, accommodates 195 vehicles, and includes toilets, showers, and a disaster equipment warehouse. According to the city, shelters specialized for car sleeping are uncommon.

The fifth nationwide special of 'Nishimura Campground' will air on June 28, celebrating the 30th anniversary of comedy duo Biking. Guests include voice actor Shun Kimura and actress Yuno Nagao. Activities include clam digging, cooking paella and beef cutlets, and making roll ice cream with traditional vegetables. A surprise is planned for the duo.

A mechanic from Nagoya, Japan, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on READYFOR to start a rental business for motorhomes designed for travel with dogs and cats. The project involves acquiring a JP STAR HAPPY1 Turbo motorhome, equipped with protective mats, waterproof sheets, and cleaning and deodorizing supplies. Funds will cover part of the vehicle purchase, licensing, and launch preparations.

Japanese chain Autobacs has launched magnetic curtains for vehicles under the Gordon Miller brand. Made of Cordura with water-repellent coating, they block 99.7% of UV and light.

The Mapple guidebook editorial team selected four campsites in the Nagano Prefecture lake area. These include Yumenohira with simple tent sites, Himekidairah White Birch with RV and free sites at 1,300 m elevation, Shirakaba Resort with powered pitches and cabins, and takibi hut run by active hunters offering game meat. Most sites operate from mid-May to October, with fees ranging from 300 yen (entry) to 6,000 yen for an RV site.
