How to read the plate
A Rwandan private plate has black characters on white: R, two more letters, three digits and a letter (RAB 272H). It is a national series of the revenue authority RRA, and the plate shows no region.

History
The RAA… series has been issued since the 2000s; the sources give no exact date. According to an amateur reference, the first letter of the number used to show the prefecture (A for Kigali … J for Kibungo); prefectures were abolished in 2006.
