How to read the plate
A Guinean plate of the 2021 series has two letters and four digits (AH 0000) in dark blue on white. A small two-digit area code sits on the right: 02 is Conakry, 01 Boké, 05 Kindia; the other codes are not yet confirmed by sources. On the left are a map in the flag colours, a QR code and RG. Numbers ending in a letter (EL 764 A) use a square two-line plate.

History
The current plates have been issued since 2021. From 1994 to 2021 plates were red with white characters in the format XX-123-AB, where the first two letters were the area code (RC for Conakry); according to hobbyist sources the codes CO, BO, KA, KI, LA, MG and NZ were also seen. A 2025 decree introduces a different numbering of the regions for documents (01 Conakry, 02 Kindia…); if it is applied to plates, the codes will change.
