How to read the plate
A Liberian plate is US-sized, 305×152 mm, and shows no region. The current orange series has one letter and five digits embossed (A13557), LIBERIA across the top, a white strip on the left with the flag and an oval LB mark, and month and year stickers on the right. On the PC-series plates the letters give the vehicle category: PC for private, TX for taxis, B for buses (PC-3028).
Region codes
Plates in this country do not show the region — you cannot tell it from the plate.
History
The PC series has been issued since 2005, and the design was updated in 2021. Older plates sometimes carried a county flag and an abbreviated county name (Mont for Montserrado, Bassa for Grand Bassa, M'land for Maryland), but no full list exists.
